The MTV Video Music Awards, also known as the 2023 MTV VMAs, are upon us!

The coveted awards show will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday, September 12 at 8/7c on MTV.

“Music’s most iconic night” will feature a star-studded list of performances from Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Kelsea Ballerini, Anitta, Diddy, Fall Out Boy, Doja Cat, Karol G, Olivia Rodrigo, Stray Kids, Shakira, Demi Lovato and more.

A slew of celebrities will take to the stage to serve as presenters during the show, including Bebe Rexha, Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio, Ice Spice, Jared Leto, Madelyn Cline, Rita Ora and more.

How And When To Watch?

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will broadcast live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday, September 12 at 8/7c on MTV.

Additionally, the show will also stream live on UniMas at 8/7c with an encore to follow on Univision at 11:30/10:30c, making it available to the most global audience in VMAs history. Univision’s Alejandra Espinoza will host an exclusive live in-show segments throughout the show as well.

The show is set to conclude with a massive celebration that will honor the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop with a collaborative performance by Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, LL COOL J, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj.

Kaliii, Reneé Rapp and The Warning will take to the Doritos Extended Play Stage.

Who Are The Pre-Show Performers?

NLE Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter will perform during the pre-show, which is set to air from 5:30-7:30ct and be hosted by Saweetie with Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney.

Who Is Nominated?

Taylor Swift and SZA dominate this year’s VMAs, with Swift receiving a remarkable 11 nominations, closely trailed by SZA, who secured eight nominations.

BLACKPINK, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo follow Swift and SZA with six nods each, while Kim Petras and Sam Smith earned 5 a piece. Beyoncé, Diddy, Drake, Ice Spice, Karol G, Metro Boomin, Shakira and TOMORROW X TOGETHER scored 4 nominations each.

GloRilla, Ice Spice, Kaliii, Peso Pluma, PinkPantheress, and Reneé Rapp find themselves among the contenders for the Best New Artist category. Meanwhile, the fiercely competitive Artist of the Year race features Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Karol G, Minaj, Shakira, and Swift vying for the coveted title.

Legendary mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will receive the prestigious Global Icon Award and perform live for the first time since 2005.

Shakira will be honored with the Video Vanguard Award, presented by Toyota, and perform live for the first time since 2006.
